Interseroh and Fermacell optimise the supply chain in the construction industry

Development of reusable pools

Cologne. INTERSEROH Pool System GmbH, a company of the international recycling specialists
ALBA Group, has developed a new logistics concept to manage reusable palettes, together with the gypsum fibreboard manufacturer Fermacell GmbH. The aim of this joint project is the optimisation of the supply chain, with better traceability of the palette flow of building sites and the building materials trade.

The new logistics concept in detail: Interseroh collects Fermacell own brand and Euro palettes from building sites, and in the building materials trade, nationwide. To this end, the environmental service provider has built up an area wide transport network. Then the palettes go to one of the 12 depots run by Interseroh, where sorting and technical testing take place. Then the palettes are sent to the plant sites of Fermacell GmbH, where they will be used again. The service will be handled via an online portal, where you can see all steps. Full data transparency is therefore guaranteed for all participants in the process chain, at all times.

“With Fermacell GmbH, we have found a partner with whom we were able to position an innovative solution for the return, preparation and reprovision of palettes on the market”, says Dr. Timo Langemann, Managing Director of INTERSEROH Pool GmbH. “The aim is to gain further partners for the logistics concept, so that all participants in the process chain benefit from having one contact person and therefore uniformly high quality standards.”

“Our goal was to find an efficient and sustainable pooling system which considers our individual requirements and palettes”, says Klaus Bröker, Head of Sales, Germany, for Fermacell GmbH. “Interseroh gave us excellent advice on the conversion process from single use to reusable palettes, meaning that we also wanted to introduce the management of Fermacell palettes to the market together.“
