Waste Management Officer and Commercial Waste Ordinance:
Full compliance with monitoring and record-keeping obligations

In Germany, new regulations entered into force in 2017 for the handling of waste by commercial enterprises. Whether you are thereby obligated to appoint a Waste Management Officer or to prepare documentation on waste streams – Interseroh helps you to fulfil your duties as required by the Waste Management Officer Ordinance and Commercial Waste Ordinance. Quickly and comprehensively.

As a company producing waste streams, you are responsible for ensuring the proper management of your commercial waste, and for appointing a Waste Management Officer to monitor the waste management methods used for packaging, waste electrical equipment or batteries. In both cases, Interseroh can provide you with expert help.

Two sets of rules: our dual approach to ensure full compliance

Proper documentation of your waste streams and employee training from Interseroh.

Appointing a Waste Management Officer as required by German law

Does your company manufacture transport packaging or take back more than 100 tonnes of this kind of packaging in Germany? Does it distribute waste electrical equipment, batteries or hazardous waste? If so, you are affected by the new Waste Management Officer Ordinance (based on the provisions of the German Closed Cycle Waste Management Act). This ordinance entered into force in 2017 and requires manufacturers and distributors to appoint a Waste Management Officer who monitors and documents the disposal methods used within the company.
Interseroh can provide you with a competent and reliable Waste Management Officer. This person inspects the waste management methods and company premises, monitors compliance with legal requirements, prepares proposals to reduce waste, authors annual reports and provides training to employees about how to handle waste.

Waste stream record-keeping as required by the Commercial Waste Ordinance.

With the entry into force of the amended German Commercial Waste Ordinance in 2017, more commercial enterprises than ever before must now separate their waste and document their waste streams. This applies both to commercial municipal waste and to construction or demolition waste.
Interseroh provides you with all of the materials you need for a quick and straightforward self-documentation as required by the Commercial Waste Ordinance. Alternatively, you can order a comprehensive documentation package from Interseroh – even less effort while ensuring full transparency.
